Pet dogs Are Man's Best Friend

Pet dogs Are Man's Best Friend

Pets are believed to be descendants of wild wolves. Ancient guy probably brought home cub wolves to raise as animals. One of the earliest known type of canines is the Salukis, which were bred by Egyptians thousands of years back as hunting pets.

Canines assisted to pull loads, herd livestock and sheep, and protect their master and the master's home. The Ancient Greeks established tiny lap pet dogs, which were meant to be held in a lady's lap to help keep her stomach warm. In more recent years, dogs have been trained as seeing eye pets for the blind.

Today many dogs, such as the Poodle or Chihuahua, no longer look like the wolf. Other pets, such as the Siberian Husky and the German Shepherd still reveal a strong similarity to the wolf. The highest pets are Great Danes and the Irish Wolfhound.

In the United States, one out of three households owns one or more dogs. Most canines live anywhere from eight to fifteen years. When pet dogs are one year old, they are as physically mature as a 15 year old human.

No matter which sort of pet you pick- huge, little, smooth haired, shaggy, quickly, slow, lively or dignified, canines make terrific companions. Enjoy their friendship and remember they require lots of petting, love, and attention to be delighted!
